Arrival: Arrive at Kilimanjaro airport, Arusha and transfer to your hotel or lodge

After breakfast and the morning views of mount Meru and possibly Kilimanjaro, we drive for about 2.5 hours south west of Arusha town to Tarangire National park. The name of the park comes from the permanent Tarangire River which runs throughout the park. You will visit the Park during its prime time; the dry season when the river is the only water source for wild animals and when thousands of animals migrate into the park. On this first day, we do a game drive for four hours. Tarangire is known for its enormous elephant population, huge baobab trees, birds of prey and tree-climbing rock python. Vegetation in Tarangire varies highly and the undulating landscape is dotted with many baobab trees, dense bush and high grass. The park is also an excellent destination for bird enthusiasts even during the dry season.

Gamd drive in Tarangire and afterwards we continue for about an hour to Maramboi tented camp near Lake Manyara. From the camp, you will have stunning views of Lake Manyara

After breakfast, we depart for the Ngorongoro crater best known for its volcanic crater. We will descend some 2000 feet onto the crater floor which supports about 30,000 large mammals.  Among these is the black rhino, the main attraction as there are only about 5000 left in the whole of Africa. We should also see many predators such as lion, cheetah, hyena and jackal. Although rarely, here we can also see shady cats like the leopard and the serval
We search for the Big Five, spot beautiful birds and scout for predator action.  Overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge or similar

An early morning game drive in the crater when animals are more active, eat picnic lunch, more game viewing and ascend the crater for your return to Arusha.
